Laura Lee (Lark) Brown

Laura Lee Lark (Brown) age 76 was born October 7, 1940 in Greenwood, Mississippi to the late Jeffery Lark Sr. and Levoda Jackson       Lark. Laura departed this life on Friday, June 9^th, 2017 at her home in South Bend Indiana. She was the first born of eleven exceptional   children: Jeffery Jr. (Frances) both deceased, Alice Rouse (Michael) of Flossmoor IL, Jean Lewis (Verneil) of South Bend, Rose McKnight deceased (Charles), Edward (deceased); Robert (Diane) of Claremont CA, Virginia Chism (Eldridge) of South Bend, Reed (Barbara) of AZ, Jamie Love (Louis) of Waukegan, IL and Lamarr (Brenda) of Green Oaks, IL.

In 1977, Laura married Frederick Brown of Panola, Texas and between them they have eight children: Frederica Jones, Cynthia Harris (Eddie), and Tina Jones; Peter Paul Jr. (Pamela), Phillip Parnell (Rhoda), Pauletta Pavon Washington (Daren), Akil (Patrick Pernard), and Prescott Paxton (Elizabeth). Their children provided her with 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren: Frederica – Adrian and Jordan Jones; Cynthia- EJ and Brook Harris; Tina – Javon Jones; Peter Jr. - Twila Newbill -- Aireal and Jalila, Tarena Terry (Michael) – Theodore; and Qqmar Woodard; Phillip – Brianna Woodard; Pauletta – Lauren and Halle Green; Akil – Evonda Woodard, Ebony Woodard, Patrick Woodard II, Kwajo Mensah, and Akilah Mensah; Prescott – Jasmine Linthicome (Austin), Prescott Woodard II.

She graduated from Central High School in 1960, serving her community faithfully all her adult life as a faithful member of Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the Superintendent of Sunday School. Laura worked for 25 years as an education assistant with Project Head Start and as food service coordinator at Real Services for ten years.
