Ruthie Jane (Pulliam) Moore

Ruthie J. Moore of Westwood Ave. South Bend departed this life on Thursday June 22, 2017 at Healthwin Specialized Care. 

She was born the 13^th child to the union of Thomas Pulliam Sr. and Sally Buchanan Pulliam on April 8, 1927 in Houston, MS.

Ruthie was married to the late George Williams. After his demise, she was later united in marriage to the late Rev. Willie Moore.   She retired from Dodge Foundry and later co-managed Toni’s Boutique Downtown South Bend. She was a former member of the Greater Friendship M.B. Church where she served as president of the Usher Board and in various other capacities of the church for many years under the pastoral leadership of the late Rev. Dave S. Davis. She later united with the New Hope M.B. Church where she served faithfully under the pastoral leadership of her nephew, Bishop Stephen Reed.  Ruthie supported the vision of her husband Rev. Moore in establishing the Philadelphia Church Ministries where she was a pillar until her sudden illness.

Ruthie is survived by stepchildren: Mary Helen Johnson, Johnny Moore, Bobby Moore, Sharon Moore and Shirley Brooks; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; a dear friend, Lenora Anderson; Sister-in-law, Cleaster Killgore.

Visitation will be held on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. with services following at 12 noon at Cobb Funeral Home 3525 S. Michigan Street.  The committal will take place at Southlawn Cemetery.
