Mr. Harvey Buckley was a fun and loving man with a witty sense of humor like his late mother, Doris Buckley Hoskins. Because of his loving and caring heart, he would help anyone. He was a sharp dresser and cared about his appearance.
A native of Mississippi, Harvey was born on January 31, 1948, in Batesville, Mississippi and graduated from Patton Lane High School in Batesville.
Harvey had lived in South Bend, Indiana for many years and had previously worked at Vincent Bach Instrument Place for more than 20 years. In his retirement Harvey wanted to stay busy and he went to work at Beacon Memorial Hospital. Although he was a patient at Beacon Memorial he was looking forward to the day when he could return to work. Wherever Harvey worked he was loved.
Harvey leaves to cherish his memory six sisters: Idella Ware of Elkhart, Indiana, Sylvia Buckley of Chicago, Illinois, Linda Hoskins Sutton of Kansas City, Kansas, Earniece Hoskins Foster (and her husband, Jerry) of Memphis, Tennessee, Jean Hoskins of Framingham, Massachusetts and Valarie Shegog (and her husband Carl) of Woodbridge, Virginia; two brothers, Ira James Hoskins of Batesville and Ronald Hoskins also of Batesville and his companion, Brandy Taylor of South Bend; one stepson, Titus Demar Jones; three step grandsons, Gavin Demar Jones, Anthony Matthew Jones and Dominic James Jones, all also of South Bend; along with many devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with his mother, Harvey was also preceded in death by his father, one sister, Irene Buckley Gardner and two brothers, Henry Ray Buckley and Kenneth Hoskins.
“I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course; I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
