Olivia P. (Parker) Roberts

 Olivia "Sister Parker" Roberts was born June 18, 1924 in Margaret, Alabama to the late Jim and Alberta Parker.
  Olivia attended Hale County Training School in Greensboro, Alabama. In 1944, she moved to Chicago, Illinois. She later met and married Jimmie Roberts. They were blessed and privileged to have and raise three children: William K. Parker, Shirley D. Parker and Lela M. Roberts.
  Olivia was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Roberts, her parents Jim and Alberta Parker, her siblings Walter C. Parker, David C. Parker, Riley C. Parker, Alberta P. Williams, Jim Parker, Jr., Phillip Parker and Roger Parker. Two children, Son, William K. Parker and daughter, Shirley D. Parker Johnson.
  Olivia was resilient, intelligent, and a courageous woman. She demonstrated her genuine love daily for her family and friends alike. She would babysit, and also, helped to form the foundation of many lives in our family. She never met a stranger. Her possession of faith, love, joy, goodness and longsuffering encouraged friendships and relationships. She truly, truly had the gift of creating laughter for everyone she met. She will be remembered and missed by many.
  On Saturday, July 7, 2018, Olivia peacefully departed this life at home in South Bend, Indiana. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her daughter, Lela R. Warren (John) of South Bend, Indiana; grandson, Derrick W. Parker (Selena) of Cleveland, Ohio; granddaughter, Brianna Olivia Warren, South Bend, Indiana; great grandsons, Derrick W. Parker, Jr., and Edmund E. Parker of Dayton, Ohio; great, great granddaughter, Rayne Johnell Taylor of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Beatrice P. Morris of Chicago, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
  The funeral and interment took place on Tuesday, July 17 in Newbern, AL.
  Friends and family are invited to attend an 11:00 a.m. memorial service Saturday, July 21 at Greater St. John M.B. Church.
