Angela “Angie” Denise Harris was born on November 21, 1965 in South Bend, Indiana.

Her parents, Chester and Connie Harris, raised her. She was the third oldest of 4 siblings: one brother, Marcus Harris and two sisters Shelly Harris and Wendy Harris.

God took Angela in his arms on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Mobile Medical Unit for Breast Health https://2593.thankyou4caring.org/SJRMC-Donate-Now.

Angie was educated in Niles, Michigan and Denison, Texas graduating from Denison High School in 1983. Upon her graduation, she attended a few years of college followed by voluntary enlistment in the United States Armed Forces, specifically the U.S. Army until 1991. She served her country dutifully as a loyal and dedicated servicewoman in the U.S. Army. While in the U.S. Army Angie received a Good Conduct medal, an Army Service ribbon, an Overseas Service ribbon, a M16 Rifle Sharpshooter Army Lapel button, and earned accolades as a Hand Grenade expert. Angie also contributed to the Post-Vietnam Era Veterans’ Educational Assistance Program and earned additional education as a tactical telecommunications center operator.

Angie loved the blue water of the ocean and sitting on the beach, one of her favorite things to do as an avid reader. She also loved sci-fi and action movies equally as well. Angie was a very neat, detailed and organized person, which led her into a second career as a Medical Credentialing Specialist. She spent the majority of her career at DCL Pathology in Indianapolis, IN where she made meaningful and lasting friendships followed most recently by a short period at HCA Physician Services in Atlantis, FL.

Angela leaves to treasure her loving memory: one son ~ Shayne M. Harris, in Dallas, Texas; three siblings ~ Marcus Harris, in Niles, Michigan, Shelly Harris, in Indianapolis, Indiana and Wendy Harris, in Dallas, Texas; three step siblings ~ Bruce Taylor and Kenny Taylor, both in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Tracy Dotson, in Dallas, Texas. Angie’s mother, Constance Roberta Harris, preceded her in death and she leaves her father Chester Morris Harris and stepmother Delores Harris, in South Bend, Indiana.
