Connie Smith Obituary

With hearts full of love, gratitude, and cherished memories, we celebrate the life and legacy of Mother Connie Mae Smith, who peacefully entered eternal rest on June 30, 2026, at the age of 91.

Mother Connie Mae Smith was born on September 17, 1934, in Missouri to the late Cornish Miller and Mable Bronner-Miller. From an early age, she developed a steadfast faith that became the foundation of her extraordinary life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and faithfully lived a life that reflected His love, grace, and compassion.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late William Justice Smith, who preceded her in death. Together they built a family grounded in love, perseverance, and faith in God.

She was also preceded in death by four beloved children: Judson Swanson, Rick Swanson, William Swanson, and Yohondous Dickens. Cherishing her memory are her loving children: Cortez Smith, Constance Wolf (Howard), Stacatto Mosley (Tasha), Monique Hockaday (Mark).

She also leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, cherished friends, and countless spiritual sons and daughters whose lives were blessed by her unwavering love and faithful example.

For more than forty years, Mother Smith faithfully served the Church of God in Christ, where she was affectionately known as "Mother Smith." She served in every capacity the Lord called her to fill. Whether encouraging others, praying for the sick, teaching God's Word, mentoring young women, supporting the ministry, or quietly serving behind the scenes, she carried out every assignment with humility, excellence, and unwavering faith.

She dedicated her entire life as a willing vessel for the Kingdom of God. Her walk with Christ was evident through her kindness, wisdom, compassion, and steadfast devotion. She believed that serving others was one of life's greatest callings and demonstrated that belief every day.

Mother Smith leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, unconditional love, and Christian service that will continue to inspire generations. Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices knowing that she has exchanged earthly labor for heavenly reward.

She truly fought the good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith.
