Daryl Reid

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we say good-bye to Daryl Reid. Daryl was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Daryl was a lively, outgoing person who will be greatly missed.
Born on October 2, 1961 to Harry Reid, Jr. and  Eva Mae (Strong) Reid (both deceased); Daryl went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2015. Daryl was 53 years old.
Daryl attended Oliver Elementary School, Jackson Middle School and Riley High School. It was in school that his love for sports blossomed. Aside from playing little league baseball, Daryl played football and baseball at Jackson middle school. While at Riley high school, Daryl was an honor student and he also played baseball, football, and hockey. After graduating from Riley High School, Daryl attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. While playing football for the Boilermakers, Daryl earned the privilege of playing in the Liberty Bowl. He was very proud to show off his ring. After graduating from Purdue with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Daryl became employed at Boeing Aircraft in Washington State.
While Daryl was native to South Bend, he spent most of his adult years in Washington State. While there he formed a great bond with his church family at Kent Nazarene Church in Kent, Washington . Daryl also focused on his love and passion for cooking. He had dreams of starting his own catering company.
Daryl is survived by his son, Daryl Reid, Jr. His loving stepmother Nancy (Harry Jr.) Reid, life-long friends Mary Rzeszewski and Eric Rzeszewski. His siblings Lamar (Pamela) Strong, Andre Strong, Donna Gary, Rochelle (Roy) Williams, and Angela (Jimmy)  Reid-Brown. His sister Denise Jones preceded him in death. Daryl also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
