Dean A Maas “Big Dean” 67, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, in South Bend, Indiana. Dean’s life began July 12, 1955, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. His parents were the late Edward Maas, Sr. of Benton Harbor and Judy Vi (Gaddie) Wells of St. Joseph, Michigan. He was a lifelong resident of Benton Harbor and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1974.
Dean was a man with many friends who has nothing but good things to say about him. He was always there to help anyone. Dean was an avid pool player, and you could always find him at the Campus Q with many of his friends. Dean was also known to be a great cook.
Dean was a bachelor all his life but loved being called Uncle Dean by all of his nieces and nephews.
Dean leaves loving memories to be cherished by his twin sister, Dena Mitchell (Don) of South Bend; a brother, Edward “Eddie” Maas Jr. (Suki) of Salt Lake City, Utah; and his little sister, Angela Aranyosi (Frank) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; along with his aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life services will held at a later date.
