Ernestine Baskin

Ernestine Harris-Baskin 75, of Elkhart, IN departed this life on Friday, October 9,2020 surrounded by family.

She was born May 24,1945 in Chicago, IL to Sherman Johnson and Etta Harvey. She moved to Elkhart as a girl with her parents. She worked and retired from Elkhart Products.

Ernestine knew no strangers, she enjoyed her family, her extended family and friends.  She was  a fun, loving, kind hearted person. She loved encouraging people and sending your uplifting scriptures or saying and comical videos on FB messenger. She enjoyed traveling, shopping,and she loved  being fashionable and styling in her jewelry. Ernestine had a contagious laugh that would lift your spirit and make you laugh. She was always smiling whenever you saw her.

Ernestine gave her life to the Lord at an early age and continued to love him with all of her heart. She was a member at Kingdom Impact Christian Cultural Church, where she served as a Greeter and a Usher. She made all who entered feel welcome.

She is survived by her children, Three (3) Sons, Anthony (Tamara)Johnson and John William Harris, both of Elkhart, IN, and  Sherman (La Tara) Harris

of Humboldt,TN, Two Daughters, Crystal Harris and Betty(Vernon) Jackson of Elkhart, IN. Step-Daughter, Patricia Evans of Elkhart, IN. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of grand children, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, her BFF,  great-grand-child, Janita Sharp and her life-long friend and former Daughter-in-law, Ida Starling.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Hugh Baskin, Grandson. Justin Sharp and Daughter-in-law Loretha Harris.
