Ernestine McGee

Ernestine McGee, affectionately referred to as “PeeWee” by those who knew her, passed away Tuesday morning, December 20, 2016 at GL-Fountainview in Mishawaka. She was 67 years old.

    Born February 7, 1949 in South Bend, she was a lifelong resident. She attended South Bend Community Schools and was a former employee of ThermoPlastics.

    Ernestine is survived by her mother, Rosella Brooks of South Bend, a son Michael Neely and daughters Tihessia, Katrina and Shamekka Neely.

    Brothers Hosie McGee, Richard McGee and Jeffery Brooks also survive her along with sisters Alice, Doris and Brenda McGee, Mary Ann Flowers and Shirley Faye Brooks.

    She was also a grandmother to six grandchildren; Dominique, Darrius and DaShawn Works, Jr., Jamekka and Jayvon Headspeth and Charles Neely and a great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren; DaNyrah Lovelady, Dredyn Allen and DaShawn Works III, all of whom she adored.

    She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest McGee and a brother Ronald McGee.
