Frances Lee Obituary

Frances (Spann) Lee, 91 of South Bend, Indiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 14th, 2020 in her daughter’s home after a brief illness. Frances was born to the union of Nadine (Chapman) and Frank Spann on May 3rd, 1929 in Jackson, TN. Shortly after receiving her high school diploma, Frances moved to South Bend, IN.  While here in South Bend, IN she met the love of her life, Demyers Lee and they were joined in marriage on November 26th, 1955. To this union three children were born. Demyers, a widower, brought to the union three bonus children.  

At a very young age, Frances confessed Jesus as her Lord and savior. She attended New Life Fellowship Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Charles E. Harris Sr. & Prophetess Betty Harris. Frances enjoyed watching her T.V. programs, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and Beautiful. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Frances leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Lovie Colemen of St. Louis MO, Tossie Sigh and Janice (Edward) Warren both of South Bend IN, one son Anthony (Germaine) Lee of South Bend, IN. Four brothers, James (Evelyn) Spann, Robert (Ruby) Spann, Joe Spann, and Roland Spann, all of South Bend, IN. Two daughters-in-law, Jackie Lee of South Bend, IN and Portia Carew of Grand Rapids, MI.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Nadine Spann and her husband Demyers Lee, as well as two sons, Andrew Lee and Kenneth Lee and son-in-law Jimmy Sigh. Four sisters, Evelyn Goodrich, Alberta Brown, Sylvester Morris and Vera Tyson. Three brothers, Ivory Lee Spann, Corinthians Spann, and her twin brother Frank Spann Jr.

Frances was a big help in raising three of her grandchildren, Kewanna (James) Gordon of Indianapolis, IN, Aneasha (Warren) Moore of Centerton, AR and Kenisha Lee of South Bend, IN. She also played a big role in raising two of her great grandkids, Shai’Briana Lee and Ja’Kaylah Johnson, both of South Bend, IN. 

Frances leaves behind to cherish her memory, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
