Hattie Lee Grant

Ms. Hattie Lee Grant passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Memorial Hospital. She was 83 years old. Hattie was born to the union of Hattie and James Grant Sr. on February 18, 1933 in Yazoo City, Mississippi. She spent many years in Newburgh, NY before moving to South Bend, Indiana in 1974. After more than 20 years of service Hattie retired from Memorial Hospital in 1995. She was a member of New Peters Rock Missionary Baptist Church of South Bend, where she faithfully served on the Mother’s board until her health failed. Hattie loved her church family.

 Memories of Hattie’s  life prevail as she will be remembered, celebrated, and cherished as mother to daughter Gloria of South Bend, son Robert (Angie) of Mishawaka; as a proud Grandmother to grandson Dairus of Georgia, granddaughters, Tanika of Georgia and LaToya of South Bend, and grandson Robert of South Bend; Great Grandmother “Nana” to 9 Great Grandchildren of Georgia and South Bend; a sister to Ned Grant an aunt to Jerry and Phil Jr, and a host of other loving relatives and friends, who will forever remember her.

 LaToya, DeSha’Na, and Kenneth made sure to create precious weekly “Family Dinner Nights” with Nana. Preceding Hattie in death were her parents Hattie and James Grant Sr., her siblings Joseph, Samuel, James, Mckinley, Roberta, Rebecca, and other loved family members.
