Jacqualine Carpenter Obituary

Jacqualine “Jackie” Carpenter was born July 19, 1947 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Tom Ellis and Sarah (Jemison) Danner.

Jackie was a graduate of Elkhart High School, Class of 1965.  After working as a Bank Teller for St. Joseph Valley Bank, she became a mother and was a homemaker for 15 years.  Jackie resumed her career as a Teller with Key Bank, where she was employed for several years.  She later became employed with Elkhart Community Schools, where she worked in Pupil Services for many years before retiring.

Jackie enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She also loved to read books, making different crafts, and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

At an early age, Jackie professed her life to Christ and was baptized at Canaan Baptist Church.  She later became a member of Agape Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as the President of the Mother Board.

Jaqualine married Joe Dean Carpenter on June 29, 1968.  Together they had their only child, whom they named Jolinda.

Jackie leaves to cherish her memory, her only daughter Jolinda Carpenter of Elkhart, two brothers Ellis Jerome Danner and James Danner of Elkhart, IN and a sister Minnie Mae Gatlin of Trenton, TN.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Dean Carpenter, sisters, Patricia “Patsy” Kyle and Cynthia Danner, and brother, James Arthur Curry.

Jackie will be truly missed, especially by her family.
