Jerry Miller, 84, resided in South Bend, Indiana; he went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023. Jerry was born on May 10th, 1938, in Trenton, Tennessee, to Tommie Miller and Mollie McMorris. Jerry was the fourth child of eight siblings.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie Miller and Mollie McMorris; his siblings, Tommie Lee Miller, Henry Lee Sharp, James (Bubba) Miller, Mary Wallace Miller-Huddleston, Maxine Miller, and Larry Darnell Simmons. His son Anthony Miller and his great grandchildren Mykail J. Craver and Cameron Miller.
Jerry was survived by his sister Everzine Miller-Chambliss, children Jerry Dewayne Belue, Antonio Dewayne Miller, Gerrold ManDale-Miller and Reginald Miller Sr.
Grandchildren Natasha N Belue, Jerry Dewayne Hardman, Jasmine Miller Valery, Reginard Miller Jr and Jayla Miller.
Great grandchildren Serenity Smallwood, Alyssa Miller, Ethan Miller, Daniel Miller, Dominick Miller, DaVion Miller and Jerryn Miller.
Jerry also had a host of Nieces and Nephews, extended family and friends.
Jerry graduated from Rosenwald High School, Trenton, Tennessee, Class of 1957. Jerry’s walk of life in Chicago, Illinois, by way of Trenton, Tennessee, was a unique lifestyle full of adversity. Jerry learned to develop a find-a-way mentality at an earlier age, as he settled in South Bend in the early 1970s. Jerry learned the trick of the trade in the hard streets of Chicago, Jerry worked as a construction worker and at the Hansel Neighborhood Center Head Start. Despite the circumstance he overcame and found a spiritual connection until his passing.
Jerry joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor F.D. Johnson. Jerry remained an active member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the supervision of Pastor Ray E. Owens. Jerry served as President of the Usher Board, Sunday School Teacher, and a Delegate of the National Baptist Convention. Jerry enjoyed worshiping, fellowship, and studying the scriptures of the Bible. He enjoyed singing hymns and listening to Shirley Caesar.
Jerry leaves with a life filled with love. He loved his family, friends and the Lord.
