Welcome to the memorial page for

John Henry Henderson

April 13, 1945 ~ January 13, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old

John Clyde (Henry) Henderson 71, departed this life to be with the Lord in heaven, at about 12:50 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, IN

He was fifth of six children born to the union of Marvin James Henderson and Ida Mae Blackman-Henderson of Poplar Bluff, MO
John was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers:  Willie Ball, Samuel Henderson, James Marvin Henderson, Michael Henderson and three sisters, Aurilla Braswell, Eleanor Henderson-Troupe and Urlee Henderson-Swope

John confessed to Christ at an early age.  His family moved to South Bend, IN in the early 1950's. Here John started his formal education. He
excelled in sports particularly basketball. He was a very good player and athlete.  John later relocated to Madison IL where he graduated and in 1963 he joined the US Army.

John lived in Saint Louis, MO for a while where he worked for General
Motors before relocating to Napa Valley California in the 70's where he
received his Associates Degree in Psychology in 1972.

John loved adventure and traveling and he found his true calling working 20 plus years in the Amusement Enterprise where he came across many people from many different walks of
life. He enjoyed what he did and he did it well. John was a good talker and a good listener as he liked to put it he was a "people person" zany,
funny, obnoxious, crazy; just down right ignorant. Hey, that was John.  He loved to live day by day.

He leaves to cherish memory  two brothers,  Wilbert L. Ball (Rosie) of Poplar Bluff, MO and Larkin Henderson of New Madrid, MO; two sisters,
Essie Matthews (Samuel) of Poplar Bluff, MO and Bobbie Berry of
Chicago, IL; step-siblings, Jeanie Jones of St. Louis, MO, Doris and David Jennings of Spring, TX, Bobby Harley of South Bend and David Lee Harley of Springfield, IL.  Two aunts, Laura Wallace and Angeline (Lover) Godbolt of Omaha, NE also survive him along with a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nephews, great-great-nieces, cousins, friends and extended family.

A special thanks and appreciation for his beloved niece, Ms. Rochelle
Robinson for her dedicated, devoted and committed care for our Uncle John until his last days on earth......,

John will loved and missed by all the family and friends
