Johnnie David Williams

Johnnie David Williams of South Bend, IN passed away on Thursday, November 5 at Elkhart Rehabilitation. He was 74 years old.
   Johnnie was born June 9, 1941 in Jackson, TN to Johnnie and Janie Mae (Gale) Williams and was a 1959 graduate of West High School in Jackson. A South Bend resident for more than 50 years, Johnnie was variously employed with Morris Inn at Notre Dame, Steel Warehouse and was a retiree of AM General following 30 years of service. He was a member of Elks Lodge #235.
   On January 5, 1963, Johnnie married Etta Dungines, to that union two sons, Kevin D.Williams and Amise D. Williams were born. They survive him along with daughters, Tina Walker-Cotton of South Bend, Tracy Kimmins of Jonesboro, GA, Nichole (Robert) Beach of Aurora, IL and one stepdaughter, Joyce Dungines of South Bend. Also surviving him are two sisters, Katie Anderson of South Bend and Lorraine Austin of Jackson, TN; three brothers, Lonnie (Irene) Williams, Danny (Mary) Williams and Robert (Patricia) Williams of Jackson, TN, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren along with a special nephew, George Austin of Jackson, TN and a host of other relatives and friends.
  The Williams family would like to thank Ed Loyal Reeves, Don Campbell, Pat Blackwell, Barb Mosby, Barb Easton and Sonya of the Life Care Center of Rochester, IN, Elkhart Rehabilitation Center and Heart to Heart Hospice for their support and professional care.
  Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Johnnie D. Williams, Jr., daughter, Jeanette Murphy and four siblings, Linda Davis, Ethel Jean Chandler, Kitty Williams and James A. Williams.
