LaTeKa Katrine Lewis

LaTeka Katrine Lewis, who resided in South Bend, Indiana passed unexpectedly on October 12, 2020 at her residence at age 47.

LaTeka was born on August 6, 1973 to Luttra and Jerry Lewis. At an early age she confessed her faith in Christ at Saint Paul Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Booker West.

She was a graduate of James Whitcomb Riley High school, attended Bethel University, South Bend, IN and Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana.

LaTeka eventually became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist church where she served on the church choir. She worked for many years with the State of Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles License Branch. and most recently at Press Ganey Associates LLC.

LaTeka is survived by her father Jerry Lewis ofSouth Bend, IN, mother, Luttra Lewis of Olathe, KS and daughter, LaTyra  (Martin)  Beserra of South Bend, IN. A sister, Karice (Chris) Duncan of Olathe, KS and brothers, Damon (Leslie) Lewis of South Bend, IN, DeAngelo (Nikki) Purnell of Wisconsin also survive her along with nieces Dana Lewis, Nyia Duncan, T’Yonne Duncan, Kayden Duncan, Braxyton Lewis, nephews Chris Allen and Christopher Duncan II and a long list of other family family and friends.

LaTeka was a loving mother, daughter sister, cousin, aunt and friend. Her smile was warm and brought light to anyone who had the pleasure of receiving it. She enjoyed baking for anyone who requested. And spending time with family and friends.
