“I am writing this obituary with a heavy heart, but I am inspired by my God to write about Lucille Denise Vance. She was a very strong willed woman who always loved and looked for love and peace from people. After a very courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer she has gone home to be with our Lord. Lucille was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and cousin. All who loved her more than she could ever know. Lucille was known to be crazy and zany at the same time Lucille had many childlike qualities of believing in only the best in people and hopes for the future. She would dance and had a laugh that was infectious and joy to the family. Lucille leaves behind many memories of love and testaments of true courage in life’s unpredictable journey. It would not be uncommon to see Lucille with her reading glasses, a yellow highlighter and an open bible. How delighted she would be if she would see a red Cardinal. It as though the bird somehow represents the start over of a new day and a fresh beginning to her. If there is a TV set in heaven, I know Lucille is watching her favorite show Sponge Bob Square Pants uninterrupted. You are missed baby sister. How she loved to remind her siblings “I’m the baby”. We do miss you and like Lucille always said “Caprenday”.
