Mae Ruby Jackson Obituary

Mrs. Mae Ruby Jackson was called from labor to reward on November 20, 2020.  She was the Matriarch of the Jackson family as well as Blaine Street.  She was Momma, Grandma, Mrs. Mae Ruby, G-Ma, Aunt Mae Ruby and whoever she was to you.

Mrs. Mae Ruby was born on January 30, 1921 to the late Alex Malone, Sr. and Rosa Bell (Terry) Malone in Mason, Tennessee.

She accepted Christ at an early age at Canaan Grove Baptist Church in Mason, TN where she served as an Usher until the family moved to Elkhart, Indiana in 1966.

She was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church for forty plus years.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Herman L. Jackson, Sr. until his death.

She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all.  She was blessed with 99 years, 9 Months,2 weeks and 5 days of life and truly lived it as a Proverbs 31 woman. She was a strong woman with words of wisdom, and she was a wonderful role model.  She was an awesome nurturer and loved everyone without limits.  As a wife and mother, she raised her siblings after her parents died at an early age, her own children and grandchildren.  When a new addition was born, they were brought to see Grandma Jackson where she loved on them, hugged them and prayed for them.  Her home was a SAFE PLACE where she loved and cared for so many.  She was selfless and her love never ran out.

Mrs. Jackson leaves to cherish fond memories of her,  four sons: James A. (Mary Lois) Jackson of Fort Wayne, IN, Herman Jackson, Jr. of Mason, TN, Cleveland Jackson and Warner Jackson of Elkhart, IN,  She also leaves three daughters: Joyce A. Burton, Sandra (Jerry) Conard and Arnita (Vaughn) Jackson all of Elkhart, IN.  She also leaves one brother: Alex (Mae Francis) Malone, Jr. of Covington, TN, Sisters-in-law: Jo Ella Malone of Los Angeles, CA, Juanita Montgomery of Pontiac, MI., Irene Williamson of Covington, TN., and Rella Mae Jackson of Atoka, TN.  Twenty-two grandchildren, fifty-seven great grandchildren, thirty-six great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by: her husband, Herman Jackson, Sr., one son, Clifford Jackson, one daughter, Barbara Jackson, one great grandson, Brandon Jackson, one great-great Grandson, Elijah Johnson Cassell, five brothers: James Malone, Thurston Malone, William Malone, Nesbit Malone and Charles Malone and two sisters: Willie B.
