Magnolia was born April 26, 1926, in Waterford, Mississippi to the late George Washington and Magnolia Byers Malone. She was the twelfth of thirteen children. All of her siblings preceded her in death.
Magnolia attended Marshall County Public Schools. In 1957, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, she became a Jehovah's Witness and remained an active, faithful servant in her congregation until her death.
In 1944, she and Ellie Hue Dean were united in matrimony and were blessed with ten children. The family relocated to South Bend, Indiana in 1962
Ellie Hue and six of their children, Mary Ellen Bradford, Magdalene Dean, Nani Fisher, Cathelle Dean, Matthew Dean and an unnamed newborn girl preceded her in death.
In 1980, in South Bend, Indiana she and Heuphert "Penny" Jones were united in holy matrimony. He has preceded her in death also.
Magnolia served as a classroom assistant at Lincoln Elementary School following her retirement from Curtis Products after 20 years of service.
Magnolia also spent time doing things she loved and valued - relationships with family and friends, reading her Bible, being active in her congregation, cooking and gardening. Music and dancing always kept a smile on her face as she loved being active.
Magnolia will be sorely missed by those who are left to cherish her sweet memory, sons John and Ellis Dean of South Bend, daughters (who were faithful and beloved caregivers) Bessie Page and Brenda Sanders of South Bend, ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews along with her beloved cat, Missy Jones.
