Marian Elizabeth Steward

Marian Cables Robinson Steward was born September 26, 1927 to Daisy Cables and husband in Halifax, VA.

She was raised by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Hudson due to the death of her mother soon after her birth.

Following her high school graduation, Marian moved to Philadelphia where she was employed as a housekeeper and patient care.

She loved music (singing opera) and dancing and was given the Nickname Cool Breeze.

Marian would eventually relocate to Mobile, Alabama where she met and married Joseph Robinson. That union was blessed with a son, Harold Vincent Robinson who preceded her in death in 1996 and daughter, Patricia Ann Robinson.

She was an awesome woman of God and will be greatly missed by those who knew and survives her. Particularly her daughter, Patricia and her husband Phillip Hockaday with whom she lived and was cared for until God took her home.

Also surviving her are 20 grandchildren, at least 43 great-grandchildren (number not known from son Harold’s clan), three great-greatgrandchildren, a host of godchildren, other relatives and friends.

At age 92, Marian has been preceded in death by all those who came before her.
