Mary Alice (Moore) Peterson

Born Mary A. Moore on December 26th 1942 in Clarksdale Mississippi to the late Edward and Estella Moore, Mary A. Peterson departed this life on Sunday, July 17^th 2016. She was 73 years old.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband James Paul Peterson Sr., a son James Paul Peterson Jr., a great grandchild, her parents, seven sisters and two brothers. 

Mary met Christ at an early age and rededicated her life to Him under the leadership of Apostle Christopher J. Pittman and was a faithful servant until her last days. She worked as a laborer for more than thirty years, retiring in 1990. She was a loving, giving and caring mother, sister, and friend to all.

Mary married James Paul Peterson at the age of seventeen, and they were together fifty four years until God took him home on March 22, 2016. Their union was blessed with seven children.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Katherine Wilson of Chicago IL, Lois Peterson-Harris of South Bend IN, and Delores Peterson of Jones MI; four sons Derrick (Jackie) Gordon of Minneapolis MN,  Willie Ellison of Dowagiac MI, Bow Wilson of Chicago, IL and Jessy Peterson of Jones, MI. A special daughter, Nyoka Johnson of Three rivers, MI and a special friend that she called her sister, Shirley Copley also survive her along with   five brothers, John (Cynthia) Moore of Hawaii, Leroy, Chester, and Sam Moore Of Chicago, Illinois and Steward Moore of Jackson, Mississippi and two sisters, Helen (Johnny) Summers Of South Holland Illinois and Stella (Leon) Moore of Jackson Mississippi.

Seventeen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and one great greatgrandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends are among those who will also miss her dearly.
