Meshayla Marie Thorpe

Meshayla Marie Thorpe, 25, of Dundee Street, South Bend, Indiana, went home to be with                 the Lord on Monday, August 12, 2024, at her residence. She was born on July 9, 1999, in South Bend to Tomala (Waddell) Allen and Tyrone Thorpe and was raised by her paternal grandmother, Edna Mae Thorpe.

Meshayla was a graduate of Rise-Up Academy and pursued a career in the hospitality and retail industry. She had an infectious, magnetic smile and a personality that would light up any room she entered. Meshayla’s most gratifying and rewarding job was being a mother to her daughter, Gizelle and spending time with her little brother, Veldon.  She loved listening to all genres of music, dancing and spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her beautiful  daughter, Gizelle Elayna-Marie Joyner; her father, Tyrone (Shaina) Thorpe; her mother, Tomala (Marshall) Allen; paternal grandmother, Edna Mae Thorpe; a sister, Tierra (Tony) Stokes; a brother Jeremiah (Faith) Waddell; a  brother, Nicholas Waddell; a sister Charmain (Javen) Brown; a sister, Unikue Nichole Thorpe; a brother, Veldon Jerome Gilliard along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Meshayla was preceded in death by an uncle, James Lamont Thorpe Sr.; paternal grandfather, Curry Lee Thorpe Sr. and maternal grandmother Paula Marie Obannon.

The life, love, and laughter of Meshayla will live on in the hearts of those who loved and knew her.
