Ron Austin was a man whose life was rooted in faith, love, and kindness. He spent his entire life devoted to God, striving to walk in His word and trusting fully in His plan. He lived with unwavering faith, positivity, and a peace that came from placing everything in God’s hands. It’s hard to understand why God takes the good ones so soon, but knowing him, there is comfort in believing he is exactly where he longed to be, home with the Lord he served so faithfully.
Ron leaves behind his beloved wife of 47 years, Rose. Their bond was deep and unwavering—true partners in every sense of the word. They were each other’s greatest love, greatest support, and greatest blessing. Ron’s devotion to Rose was evident in the way he cared for her, stood by her, and cherished the life they built together.
He was a loving and devoted father to his son, Ron Jacob, whom he loved tremendously and took great pride in. He was also a caring uncle and a proud great uncle to his great-nephews.
Known for his kind heart and gentle humor, Ron was always ready with a good joke to give you a smile. His positivity made those around him—family, friends, and coworkers—want to be better. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and treated everyone with kindness and respect.
In his spare time, Ron enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels, slot cars, and anything with a motor. These hobbies brought him a simple joy and reflected his lifelong appreciation for things that moved, worked, and roared to life. He was a devoted employee for the City of Mishawaka Water Department for many years.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Rose Austin; his son, Ron Jacob Austin, brother, Bill Austin; sister, Marielle Austin-Mills, dad; Coye Austin (deceased), mother; Margaret Klein-Austin and many loving family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
