Rosie Lee (Carson) Givens

The hour glass with its sands of time has slowly but surely spilled its contents, and with the passing of the last grain of sand went the life of our loved one.

Rosie Lee Carson Givens was born August 03, 1948. Her parents Jake Carson, Sr. and Ada Carson preceded her in death. Rosie accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the age of ten years old and was baptized. Her faith in God was VERY STRONG!

Rosie joined Mercy Seat MBC in the early 70's under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Amos Waller. She served as the Vice President and Treasurer of the Pastors' Aid for many years.

Rosie moved her membership to the "GOP" Garden of Prayer in 2001 under the leadership of Rev. Johnnie R. Haynie. She loved her church and was a faithful member until her death.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Lester Givens, son, Rev. Calvin Carson (Long Beach, Ca), daughter, Katrenia R. Givens and only brother, Jake Carson along with(step-children) Terry Seawood (Texas) Ronaldo (Bregetta) Givens, of  Maryland, and Patrick  Garner (Jackson, Miss.); (step-grandchildren) Shaun Fields, Shayy Garner, Terri Byas, Layla Garner, Cortni Seawood, Dy'ana Isalelle, De Srae Seawood; god children: Kashai (Marc) Cook, Trell Moore, MeMe Stevenson, and  AJ Poe; God Mother: Jennie Stevenson and God Sisters: Olivia Stevenson, Denise Stevenson, Ferlinda (Dwayne) Taylor and God Brother: Leroy Stevenson. Sisters In Law: Lillie Brandon (South Holland, IL), Rosie McInnis (South Bend, IN), Elizabeth Smith, Elois Mc Millian, Gladys (Jesse) Taylor (Chicago, IL) and Brothers In law: Freddie Givens Jr (Memphis, TN), Rodgers (Ida) Givens (Grenada, MS) also survive her.

Special Nephew: Joe Jenkins. Special Sister in Christ: Gladys Baker, Best Friends: Lottie Ellison and Antoinette Walker, her Church Family (GOP) Garden of Prayer and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends are among those who will miss her dearly.
