In loving memory of Sarah Lee Jesse

On Tuesday, April 13, 2021 Sarah Lee Jesse of Osceola Indiana passed away at the age of 83 following a sudden diagnosis of Leukemia.

Sarah was born on March 15, 1938 in Nappanee Indiana to Velma Lopp (Hare) and Velours “Dutch” Lopp who preceded her in death. Sarah Lee was a graduate of Nappanee High School, where she was a member of the band, playing the flute. She was a member of the First Brethren Church where she would play the organ for church service on Sundays. Sarah would many times play piano at home or church, accompanied by her father Dutch on the violin. Sarah was a homemaker who provided valuable life and home keeping skills to her son and daughter who will always remember her availability to attend their school functions and activities.

Sarah Lee was a very loving and caring wife and mother who had many talents. She was very creative and accomplished at sewing, drawing, knitting, and crafting. She always made holidays and gift giving memorable with cherished hand-made items she and her mother Velma crafted.

Sarah was always available to her family and friends to lend an ear or a comforting caring thought. She was a lovely, kind, sweet woman who never met a stranger. Sarah had the gift of being approachable to everyone she met and will kindly be remembered as a loving mother, wife and human being.

Sarah Lee’s wish was to forgo funeral and viewing services. She will be cremated at Cobb Funeral Home, South Bend Indiana. In loving memory of my beloved mother.
March 15,1938 -April 13,2021.
“Mother” is such a simple word,
But to me there’s meaning seldom heard.
For everything I am today,
My mother’s love showed me the way.
I’ll love my mother all my days,
For enriching my life in so many ways.
She set me straight and then set me free,
And that’s what the word “mother” means to me.
Thanks for being a wonderful mother, Mom!
I’m comforted that you left this world on your terms and on grandfather Dutch’s birthday who I know was there to take your hand and lead you to heaven.
