In loving memory of Sarah Lee Jesse
On Tuesday, April 13, 2021 Sarah Lee Jesse of Osceola Indiana passed away at the age of 83 following a sudden diagnosis of Leukemia.
Sarah was born on March 15, 1938 in Nappanee Indiana to Velma Lopp (Hare) and Velours “Dutch” Lopp who preceded her in death. Sarah Lee was a graduate of Nappanee High School, where she was a member of the band, playing the flute. She was a member of the First Brethren Church where she would play the organ for church service on Sundays. Sarah would many times play piano at home or church, accompanied by her father Dutch on the violin. Sarah was a homemaker who provided valuable life and home keeping skills to her son and daughter who will always remember her availability to attend their school functions and activities.
Sarah Lee was a very loving and caring wife and mother who had many talents. She was very creative and accomplished at sewing, drawing, knitting, and crafting. She always made holidays and gift giving memorable with cherished hand-made items she and her mother Velma crafted.
Sarah was preceded in death by her first husband Jon Alan Miller and her second husband Lee Ray Jesse. She is survived by her son Darren Scott Miller, Osceola, Indiana and her daughter Leisha Renee’ Miller (Ortiz), Atlanta, Georgia, and granddaughter Logann Taylor Fincher, Atlanta, Georgia, as well as cousins Ron Geyer and Elaine Verslype along with several other beloved family members.
Sarah Lee will be missed dearly by all who have had the chance to be a part of her family and friend circle. Sarah was always available to her family and friends to lend an ear or a comforting caring thought. She was a lovely, kind, sweet woman who never met a stranger. Sarah had the gift of being approachable to everyone she met and will kindly be remembered as a loving mother, wife and human being.
Sarah Lee’s wish was to forgo funeral and viewing services. She will be cremated at Cobb Funeral Home, South Bend Indiana. Her wishes are for her ashes to be scattered at her Husband Lee Jesse’s gravesite. Please cherish the memories you had with her during her lifetime. Close friends and family members will be notified of a “Celebration of Life” ceremony, details forthcoming . In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society to help those currently fighting cancer, or family and friends that have lost loved ones to cancer.
