Shirley Jean Moore

Shirley J. Moore, age 78 of South Bend, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 16, 2015.

Shirley was born on December 2, 1936 to the union of Charles Haskins and Virginia Long in Union City, Tennessee. Shirley relocated to South Bend, Indiana in 1948 and attended South Bend School Corporation. A member of her church’s Mothers Board and a Mama to many, Shirley was employed by Shoppers Fair Department Store and Saint Joseph Hospital. She was a loving mother, daughter, wife and grandmother. Shirley’s favorite pastimes included holidays, church with her children, cooking, barbequing and spending quality time with family and friends.

Shirley was united in Holy matrimony to Henry Leon Moore on October 24, 1970. Shirley, who was an only child, is survived by her children, Timothy Moore and Tanya Haskins-Delk of Mishawaka, IN, Anthony (Shelia) Green, Myron Haskins and Terri Haskins of Dallas, TX. Two aunts, Katherine James of Union City, TN and Lucy (Lonnie) Byrd of Rochester, NY also survive her along with grandchildren: Tamika (Dion) , Jahmal, Jarvis, Jeremiah, Nicholas, Malaika, Brandan, Dominick, Dwight Jr., Monneese, Courtney, Shavar and great-grandchildren: Da’Maiyha, De’ Carlos, Derrion, Dwight lll, Derrick, LeShawn and a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles Haskins and Virginia Long, husband, Henry L. Moore, son Dwight Haskins, Sr. and grandson James Thorpe-Haskins.

Shirley was ever so poised and gracious with a beautiful smile.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

 She will be forever missed!
