Mr. Stanley Leon Doaks, 70, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of South Bend departed this life on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in South Bend on June 21, 1950 to the union of Leon and Lucy Doaks; they both preceded him in death.
Stanley grew up in a Christian home and confessed his hope in Christ at an early age. He was a member of Abundant Faith and Life Ministry in South Bend under the leadership of Rev. James B. Williams. Stanley was a 1972 graduate of John Adams High School. On June 14, 2003 he married the love of his life, Kyna Coleman-Doaks; she survives.
Stanley was employed at AM General for over 25 years and worked at Oliver Manufacturing for 15 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Affectionately known as Mr. “South Bend” he had a passion for Cadillacs and owned several! He was a member of the Convertible Cadillac Club in South Bend. He was the true definition of an OG. He was a pool shark and also enjoyed playing cards, visiting casinos and traveling around the world. His favorite place was Las Vegas!
Stanley leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Kyna Doaks; brothers, Kenneth Doaks, Dennis (Mia) Doaks, and Randall Doaks; sisters, Delores Moore, Darlyn Johnson, Denise Doaks and Donna (Donny) Shively; sons, Stanley Moore, Trevor Doaks and Eric Doaks; step-daughter Valinda "Puddin" Coleman; daughters; Eden Burley and Jeannette Williams; 18 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; special friends of Indianapolis, Larry and James who were like brothers to him; a special granddaughter, Shante's Caldwell who we extend special thanks, love and hugs to for her extra care and comfort to her Pawpaw. Shante cared for him until the very last seconds of his life.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Keith and Michael Doaks.
Stanley was a friendly and soft spoken man who loved everyone. He will be remembered dearly by those who loved and knew him.
