Tommy Davis, Jr.

 Born September 11, 1951 in Mississippi to Mattie and Tom Davis, Tommy Davis, Jr. departed this life on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 with his wife and son at his bedside in San Diego, CA where he had since 2001.

After his relocation to California, Tommy redirected his career path and through dedication and focus completed the necessary educational requirements to receive CNA certification as well as a certificate in small business practices. In recognition of his work ethic, Tommy was the recipient of numerous awards.

He was a sports enthusiast and was elated when he had the opportunity to visit Lambeau Field, the home of his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers. He also loved watching sports, politics, crime and investigation stories and health related programs on television.

Along with his wife, Donna, Tommy is survived by his seven children; daughters Tammy (Johnny B) Bryant of Clarksdale, MS, Barbara (Daniel), Wendy (Gregg) and Penny; sons, Edward (Yolanda), Derrick (Teresa) and Jeff (Davell). Twenty-one grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren survive him along with a brother, John (Mattie) Calhoun of Clarksdale, MS and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers.

Tommy was the center of his family, respected and well liked in the community. He will be missed.
