Sunrise for Mrs. Tony (Douglas) Reed, of South Bend Indiana was born on July 19, 1943. She was an identical twin, born to Tommie and Lucille Douglas in South Bend, Indiana. Both parents preceded her in death.
Tony received her education through the South Bend Public Schools and attended college through IUSB. She accepted Christ at a very young age. She was a member of Greater Saint John Baptist Church for over 35 years. She especially enjoyed the Senior Choir at St. John.
Tony was a loving, caring and devoted mother. She enjoyed her Church, first and foremost. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, bingo and most of all her children, grandchildren and family.
Through her journey of life she enjoyed cooking. She became a cook over 35 years. She and her twin Tommie (Douglas) Harris who has preceded her in death worked for Misti’s Mug and Muffin as the famous twin cooks that would bring a big smile to your face while enjoying lunch. Many years after retiring from cooking she became involved in the Grandparents Daycare Services and REAL Services. As her health became a challenge for her she devoted her time to her church and family. She enjoyed reading the Bible and spreading the word to all friends and family.
Tony leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters. Sandra (Bryan) Kuykendoll and Delisa Reed of Memphis Tn. and three sons Kenneth (Tasheia Hill) , Anthony and Percy Reed all of South Bend In. 26 Grandchildren and 20 Great- grandchildren. Five sisters Louise Jackson of Livonia Mi. Bernadine (Kenny) Payton of Fort Wayne , In. Katharine (LaDell) McBride of Detroit Mi. Doris ( Derrick) Willis and Viola Brown of South Bend In. One brother, Lloyd Henry Douglas and a special daughter Tawanna Brown. Plus an abundantly host of family and friends.
Along with her parents, Tony was also preceded in death by her Twin Tommie (Douglas) Harris, Brothers Don Turner and Kenneth Douglas.
