Tyree Washington

Our beloved father, brother and friend, Tyree Washington, affectionately known as “Puncho”, made his earthly departure on Sunday, October 9, 2016.

He was born in South Bend, Indiana on August 14, 1957 to the late Wallace and Clara (Eddington) Washington, Jr.  On April 28, 2001Tyree was joined in Holy Matrimony with Raynelle Boyd.

He confessed his life to the Lord when he joined New Testament Baptist Church in 1997 under the leadership of the late Rev. Allen Gary and rededicated his commitment to Christ in 2015 under the leadership of Rev. Steven Barnes.

Tyree, a lifelong resident of South Bend enjoyed singing, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. Skillfully, he was a “jack of all trades”. On the day that Tyree departed this earthly life, he was filled with the Holy Spirit as he sang his last song, “I want to be at the meeting.”

Tyree leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Raynelle; daughters, Tiffany (Muskegon, MI), Keishna and Rosseline Washington and Natasha Boyd of South Bend. Stepchildren, Shawnta Shane and Sean Boyd also survive him along with sisters, Connie Weatherspoon, Gwen Keys, Geraldine Boyd of South Bend and Irene Bonds of Elkhart; brothers, Perry Hunter and Edward and Otis Washington of South Bend and grandchildren, Aire’anna, Da’Monie, Da’Mya, L’Angel, Travis, Jr., Re’Niyah, Domonique, Shantal, Ashanti and Sean, Jr.

 In addition to his parents Tyree was preceded was in death by a son, Tyree Washington, Jr. and grandchildren, Ma’Kiyah and Corey, Jr.
