Viola Tucker

Viola Tucker passed away quietly on Tuesday morning, February 2, 2016 at home surrounded by family. She was 72 years old.
Viola was born October 23, 1943 in Mariana, Arkansas, one of eight children born to George and Sara Garner-Tucker.

Seeking better economic opportunities for herself and her family, Viola relocated from Arkansas to Chicago, IL in 1967 and resided there until she came to South Bend in 2000. Here she busied herself with caring for those she loved. She enjoyed making people happy. Other than the domestic role that she happily immersed herself in, Viola received great personal satisfaction from visiting Walmart, her favorite store.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sara Tucker, all her siblings, James, Leon, Cicero, Charlie, Kenon and George Tucker, Canary Martin, Lillie Mae Edmondson and Effie Heard as well as a son, Frank Sanders (1982), a daughter, Eldoris Tucker (2003) and a very special friend of 41 years, Francis Joe Knight of Chicago.

Surviving to cherish her memory are a son, Robert C. Sanders and a daughter, Brenda J. Allen. Six grandchildren, Angel, Corey, Brandon and Devon Williams, Daniel Allen and Regina Gibbons also survive her along with six great grandchildren.
