| Watsey S. Gauldin passed away on Thursday, June 2 at his home in South Bend, IN. He was 67 years old. He was born November 12, 1948 in Newbern TN to the late S.L. and Margaret (King) Gauldin. A South Bend resident for more than thirty years, Watsey was a recent retiree of the South Bend Community School Corp. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and occasionally going to the boat as well as sharing breakfast with his South Bend Community School retired friends. He accepted Christ at an early age and was affiliated with the Methodist Church. Watsey is survived by a son, Ronnie (Gloria) Hill of Dyersburg, TN, daughters, Cynthia Mayes of Missouri, Darnisha Parker of Nashville, TN and LaShonda (Tim) Hatfield of Fort Wayne, IN. Also surviving him is a brother, Jimmie Gauldin of South Bend, IN and sisters, Mai Margaret (Milton) Pittman of South Bend, IN, Mai Sue (Ronnie) Bond of Fort Wayne, IN and Beverly Harris of South Bend, IN along with 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, S.L. Gauldin and Margaret V. (King) Gauldin, a sister, Hattie Magee and a brother, James L. Gauldin. The funeral service for Mr. Gauldin is 12:00 noon Friday at Laymen Chapel CME Church 303 S. Kenmore St. with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. |
